Pioneer Day

Libby informed me that forth grade Pioneer day is next week and she needs a Pioneer Girl outfit ASAP!!! Doing what most working moms would do.....I decided to buy the outfit. I got on EBAY and some other costume sites and decided quickly that I was too cheep to spend my hard earned money on a store bought costume. (yes I know Iva....got to go get in line....you can come too!!!!:*)
I went to Walmart and bought material and made my daughter a beautiful Pioneer Girl outfit. I have not sewed much since high school home-ec class (even then my skills were less then wonderful).....so my confidence was not real high. Lib wanted to tell her teacher about it, I told her to wait to see if it even looked like a dress when I was done!!!! However, I found it is much like riding a bike....you don't forget. I even made the bonnet and apron and am very pleased with the results. She is more then happy and has been skipping around the house like Laura Ingles Wilder. My mom would be proud....she taught me well!!!!

I didn't know you could sew. I took sewing in high school but I'm not sure I remember how to do it well enough to make a dress. Good job!!

Libby looks cute and the dress is cute too! I used to sew all my clothes once upon a time before kids arrived!!!!! I'm about ready to get the machine out again due to the fact that the only skirts I can find for Jaida are mini's----blows my mind that people would actually want their little girls in those things!!!!

Forgot to mention, she looks like she needs to be plowing the fields in the background, HA! Or at least collecting eggs from all the chickens, lol!
